Marcel Holmberg / Founder & Design Director
Marcel Holmberg has based MAARC in Berlin, where he oversees the design of projects in Germany, England, Chile and China. Having worked with Ole Scheeren in Beijing and Berlin for more than 5 years, he took a lead role in the design development of the showcase and operational headquarters for Guardian Auction house in Beijing’s historic core. He was a significant influence in the design of diverse projects, including: Angkasa Raya a 268m tall hotel, office and residential building in Kuala Lumpur; Axel Springer Media Headquarters in Berlin; a Chinese insurance headquarters tower in Beijing CBD, a residential development in Shenzhen, East London cultural hub Olympicopolis, a 150m high office tower in Central London and MahaNakhon tower in Bangkok. In China he founded and led his own office, PWD Architecture. Along side his partner Lin Wang he designed and built many projects all over Asia collaborating with french architecture office AREP in the design of large Transport Oriented Developments, over 300,000m2 project and Masterplans in China that reached designs of 10km2 or 2 million square meters.  He has been a guest lecturer internationally in design conferences and universities in his native Chile. Before moving to China he collaborated with renowned architects Marco Polidura, Iñaki Volante and Javier Bize in the design of diverse typologies and scales of architecture.
